Beam Moving Head Light Simplified Maintenance Guide

Core Principle: Regular maintenance is key to ensuring performance and extending the fixture’s lifespan.

I. Daily Maintenance (After Each Use)

  1. Cool Before Storage: Allow the fans to completely stop after power off before disconnecting power. Never hot-plug.
  2. Clean Filters: Use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the heat dissipation filters. If washed, ensure they are thoroughly dry before reinstalling.
  3. Check Cables: Inspect power and DMX cables for damage and ensure connectors are intact.

II. Regular Maintenance (Monthly or Every 50 Hours)

  1. Internal Dusting: Power down, open covers, and use compressed air or a soft brush to gently remove dust from PCBs, fans, and optical components.
  2. Lubricate Drive System: Check X/Y axis belts and gears. Use only specialized lubricant.
  3. Full Function Test: Run the self-test program to check movement, color, gobos, dimming, and other functions.

III. Deep Maintenance (Quarterly or Every 200-500 Hours)

  • Professional Calibration: Have a technician calibrate the optical path to ensure beam accuracy.
  • Lamp Replacement: Wear gloves. Never touch the new lamp’s glass bulb directly with bare hands. Reset lamp hours after replacement.

Important Safety Notes:

  • All operations must be performed with the power completely disconnected.
  • Handle with care to avoid severe shocks and vibrations.
  • When maintaining optical components, use professional tools to avoid scratches.

Common Issues Quick Check:

  • No Power: Check power cable and fuse.
  • No Light: Lamp life expired or trigger fault.
  • Communication Failure: Check DMX cable, address setting, and terminator.
  • Movement Noise: Needs lubrication or check belts/gears.
